I am off tomorrow to Harrogate for Knitting and stitching show. Hopefully will have a good time.
Going with three friends. Managed to mess up the return trains, instead of stopping at Stevenage it goes to Kings Cross. Had a mighty row with GNER but said they cannot do anything, although its their fault as I swear I asked for return to Stevenage - so when we get back will claim back the fares from K.X Grrrrr I am so angry I usually am very thorough and check everything twice!!!
Didn't this time until yesterday pm. Will let you all know what purchases I make.

And another - not from original quilt - an odd bit I had over from another project but treated the same way. Note to self - must turn pictures and take better photos!!!! As a bye the bye, went to see Ross Noble with daughters Saturday night - brilliant if you get the chance go see him
I ended up in tears it was so funny. But then again I do have an odd sense of humour.
This piece also needs viewing sideways - from same original quilt wallhanging its A4
This is actually sideways on if you turn your head to a jaunty angle(left) you will see it as meant to be!
This is one of the results from the Annette Morgan workshop mentioned earlier - due to having orrible cough have not felt like doing much. As I am doing a workshop with Isobel Hall at AVG tomorrow , thought I'd better practise with new machine.
This is the new addtion to the family of sewing machines, Janome Jem 720 - really lightweight does free machining like you would not believe also bought small table that just sits around machine. Really pleased ( like I need another machine)

Had a really nice day on a workshop at Art Van Go, with Annette Morganon Thursday.Painting old textiles with emulsion paint. Won't go into too much detail as she has an article in the next Quilting Arts ,will post some photos later of the work in progress.
After posting the last message, the photos are all back. Weird.
Have just logged onto my blog only to find all my photos bar one have not appeared
Does anyone know why? Have checked other blogs and they all seem fine.
Mystifiying.

Have been playing with images and Picasa collage. Printed this onto a card then smaller images onto Print on Cotton - backed with felt, stitched then applied to card. Have more ideas on this theme, but will be working the rest of the week. Then Ally Pally on Sunday. Must make sure to get out loads of cash.

By the way - I scanned this in rather than photographing it.
Don't know if it makes any difference. Seems quite pale on blog
It is actually slightly darker.
This is all I have achieved today whilst waiting for the return of my laptop from HP.
It seems to have taken forever because of trying to find things in my workroom mess
It is based on the Quiltwow workshop - Postcards from the Edge. Not from the same image as previously posted. It is great fun playing with Picasa. Have loads of ideas - but then I'm good at ideas. Just need to put them into practice. Try it , its a free workshop and the picasa program is a free download.

Just created this using Picasa - a free download from Google. It was suggested by the new Quiltwow - Quilters version of Workshop on the Web- free workshop Postcards from the Edge bty Carol Dowsett. Will print it out as she suggests later and then stitch. Had a lot of fun
doing this could become another great time waster. I think the addy for this is www.quiltwow.com but I am not sure.

The picture has come out very pink/purple-but it actually has more brown/dark orange
All I need now is to figure out how to upload to fibreandstitch group photos.
Also cannot seem to get photos on blog and words to line up?

This is my attempt at Lutradur and Lace
and the outside!
This is the inside of another padfolio

Gina was mentioning in her blog RAKs - random acts of kindness. Today I was the recepient
of a RAK. Annette Morgan gave me a copy of her CD book - Gltzy Quilts. I was so pleased, it has really made my day. So thoughtful. I have had a quick browse and it look really good.
It can be ordered from www.rainbowdisks.com
Also today got the new book from Fibrefusion (Pauline Verrinder's group) called On Form.
It was the book launch at Art Van Go today. This also looks very good.
You may have gathered by now, I am a bit of a bookaholic. Try a random act of kindness
it makes the recepient feel sooo good.

Picture not that clear although I had camera on macro. Need to learn how to use properly. Especially as younger daughter is doing a photography degree! Hope she doesn't see this. Thought it might make a nice cord to wrap around a small padfolio. Small being the operative word. Its quite time consuming but as I said,
mindless.
Whilst looking for something else, came across this yesterday - its so easy to make a cord/braid just jump two threads , tun clockwise. Thats it.
Mind less really. Used stranded cotton in two colours 4 of one 3 or the other comes out like this.

Have had a few goodies delivered, new book ,Bags with paper and stitch - Isobel Hall, have also booked onto her workshop at ArtVanGo.
Rust-Tex cd and a piece of evolon. All of which look really good, just need time to sit and look now. Watch this space for review etc.

Finally success - this is the padfolio
Tried a photo - no go will have to try again

New blog

I am new at this game, this is my first post. One of the reasons for starting this having seen so many other blogs in the textile area, which are inspiring and very helpful in motivating me to get on with something. I am very good at prevarication. Loads of ideas no action! I am hoping that by putting myself out there, I will get on with something and yes, finish it. I have been making padfolios inspired by the instructions on Sue Bleiweiss web site and cannot wait for the new online magazine that her and others are doing. First issue due soon! www.fibreandstitch.com I will try and upload some photos.
